Adopting children from Africa
My wife and I are wanting to adopt a couple young children from Africa. Probably from the Kibera slum in Nairobi (www.KiberaSlum.com).
Everyone wants a baby. We want two children, preferably related, around age ten; because nobody wants them.
Keep us in your prayers. We’re hoping to make progress when we go to Kenya this fall.
The Phone Call
There I sat, in cold darkness, with thoughts of suicide as close as they have ever been. Amidst my tears, I thought it was over, that any reasons I had to live had just left me. She walked out the door, and at that point, I wanted nothing more than to end my life. Silence. I thought that I had done the unforgivable, and wouldn’t allow God, or anyone else to extend grace and to forgive me.

Time with Friends
The older i get the more I realize that I cherish the times with Friends and Family. Those times of goofing off with friends, the late nights watching movies and playing games. The reason for reflecting on this is Me and the wife are going to a crawfish boil this afternoon at some friends home. Plus i haven’t had crawfish in a while… Anyways remember to cherish the time with Friends and Family.
The Power of Prayer
I must admit that prayer, for me, has always been something that I have found difficult. Not sure why, but I never pray as much as I should, and just feel weird doing it sometimes. On Wednesday night, we had Lee Strobel at our church to talk about the DaVinci Code. Before his message, our congregation was asked to pray in groups for those who will be affected by the book and by the movie.
I have never experienced 7,000 people praying at once before. I sat quiet, simply listening to the sound of God’s people caring …
Where’d Dad Go II
Following up on yesterdays post and to be accountable to the CD site here’s my report.
On the way home from work I purchased flowers & gummy bears for my wife. I also stopped by 31 Flavors for a cappuccino blast another favorite with the wife.
Arriving home, Anastasia was working furiously away. Once she saw all the goodies she shot out of her chair and gave me a huge hug. I made sure our son Brandon was able to witness the whole deal. I was thinking… way to go Brian you’re setting a great example for your son.

Sunroof
I don’t know about you, but God speaks to me a lot when I am driving. About a week ago, my wife and I bought a Honda Pilot. Normally we choose not to spend money on extra things, but for some reason we decided to get the package that includes a sunroof. (Which, by the way is something I always thought would be cool to have.)

Where'd Dad Go?
One of the best parts of being a dad is playing with my 2 year old son. He loves to imitate me. I’ll hide under the covers and yell “Where’d dad go?” He’ll dig through our blanket, comforter, and bed sheets to find me like I’m a lost treasure. The fun comes next. Upon finding me he grabs all the covers he can dives into our bed and yells “Where’d BRANDON GO?!?” I jump on top of him pretending to be unable to locate him while tickling him into a frenzy. Has Congress Lost Their Mind Due to Gas Prices?
I like reading the updates during the day and articles etc… this one threw me for a loop. (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12509275/>1=7938) Congress is proposing a $100 rebate to help absorb some of the increase in price…. I mean common all they are saying is you get some of the money you paid us… Part of reason gas is so high is a large portion is TAXES!!! As usual congress tries to fix something that needs a bandaid with a hammer… But i still love being an American! Should be even more of a reason to pray for our leaders.
