Movie Review- The Greatest Game Ever Played
A few days ago, while I was on a walk with our kids, my wife Stephanie rented “The Greatest Game Ever Played” (PG, Disney, 2005) from our local McDonald’s Redbox. We rarely have the opportunity to relax with one another and watch a movie but fortunately this night we did. What a tremendous movie! Set in early 1900′s, the film details the determination, passion and success of a working class young man from Boston named Francis Ouimet. The climax of the movie (which is inspired by a true story and based on a book by Mark Frost) is when Francis …
We Gotta Pray!!!
“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way…I desire then that in every place the MEN should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling…” (1 Timothy 2:1-2,8) A major issue has been brewing in our country for some time now concerning the preservation of the Bible’s definition of marriage. what happens in Vegas …
The latest TV commercial says: “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” … but I disagree. For the first time in their history the Chicago RUSH arena football team plays in the Arena Bowl Sunday, June 11 in Las Vegas … and they have asked Linda and I to join them. God can orchestrate some of the most bazaar events in a person’s life. I am humbled that HE can take a …

Our faith comes alive when we apply God’s Word to our daily lives. The Bible is like medicine; it goes to work only when we apply it to the infected areas. When you have your quiet time or when you are reading scripture with your children … be sure to “use as directed” and apply the medicine. “I am your servant; deal with me in unfailing love, teach me your principles. Give discernment …

I’ve been carrying around some emotional weight the past few days, and tomorrow I will be unloading when I have a chance. More to come…
lions and tigers and butts, oh my!
Since I had to work on Memorial Day I took Tuesday off to spend exclusively with my family. We decided it would be fun to have a picnic and then explore the Como Zoo. My kids loved it. It was such a delight to watch Jacob run from exhibit to exhibit, calling out to us when he located the different animals. His favorites were the monkeys, the lions and the cougar. In fact, after watching the lions, tiger, and cougar Jacob started walking around the zoo on his hands and feet, pretending that he too was a ferocious feline. But …
