a comfortable itch

I love comfortable flannel pants, shoes, boots, sweatshirts, underwear, recliners, beds, sheets, pillows … and a daily schedule that causes me NO discomfort. I love it when the phone doesn’t ring and traffic flows with NO interuptions.

Many people also love it when church is comfortable. Great music, soft seats, perfect temperature, a brief and easy to listen to sermon … and a short exit line out of the parking lot.

Address sin and self-centeredness … and suggest that GOD is not pleased with homosexual life-styles or abortion or a way of living that excludes HIM … and people get mad at the church. Many people want a nonthreatening relgious experience that suits their own desires.

If you are not living for GOD and have become indifferent towards the church and Biblical teachings … then you are living for the devil … and he loves it.

“For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.” 2 Timothy 4: 3
