a must win situation
If you are a sports enthusiast you’ve surely heard the old cliche`:
“this team is facing a must win situation”. Perhaps at times you’ve even applied this phrase to other unique circumstances in your life. Good or bad – winning certainly has a very high priority in this world. The apostle Paul thought so too.
In his letter to the church in Corinth Paul demonstrates the “coach” within himself when he talks about the adjustments he makes in his “game plan”. However, Paul’s game plan confronts eternity and focuses on winning people for God’s Kingdom.
Five times in 1 Corinthians 9: 19-23 Paul references winning …
… and then tells us why he is so driven to inform others about Jesus. He states in verse 23:
“I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessing”.
What’ your game plan for those in your life that do not know the eternal security found in trusting Christ ? If you have no game plan … believe me Satan has his 24 – 7.
