a not so good friday

Most people think of Good Friday as a holiday rather than a holy day. But for Jesus the day was far from good. This was the day He was arrested, beaten, spat upon, mocked, punched, slapped, stripped, flogged, ripped with thorns, and then nailed to a tree. Even while dying a slow and painful death people ridiculed Him.

Seems everyone has an opinion about everything. But from a Biblical perspective … which is God’s perspective … the three most significant events in the history of mankind are:
#1. the birth of Jesus
#2. His death and resurrection
#3. His second coming

I am amazed that you and I are loved so much … even in our sin and indifference … that God would send His Son to die for us and our sins. Yes, the goodness of Jesus was certainly on display that Friday … because through His love He gave us a choice. The choice to believe and live for Him.

“But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8

And by the way, you don’t have to clean yourself up to come to Jesus, He will do that for you.
