a stabilizing force in a dark age

You and I are living in an insecure, angry, confused, sinful, and dark age. No matter where you go you can find a turbulent environment filled with deception. Every morning I read the news and discover something more terrible than the day before.
> parents selling their daughters as sex slaves.
> wars that intentionally kill civilians.
> pornography infiltrating all walks of life.
> video games that promote violence and lawlessness.
> gay olympics that celebrate open defiance to God.

Then I open my Bible and God’s word reminded me of my own “dark age” … littered with lies, Godless language, alcohol, selfishness, sexual sin, and divorce.

Then Jesus … a stabilizing force in a dark age … came into my life.
There are many reasons why I have a love beyond explanation for this holy man … but the #1 reason is this:
“… your sins have been forgiven on account of His name.” 1 John 2:12

Your past ended one second ago … from this point on you can be forgiven … your sin-slate wiped clean … and the stabilizing force of His Spirirt can bring eternal light to your dark age. If you havn’t already made this decision … what on earth is holding you back?
