Yesterday I sat in a room with a man from Mexico, a woman from Romania, a woman from the Ukraine, a man from from Thailand, a woman from Korea, and another woman from Laos. For the next 15 weeks together we are studying a letter written by the apostle Paul to the Christ followers in Rome.

All of us in that Moody Bible Grad School class, including more than 20 Americans from all over the nation, have one thing in common. We were all born in sin. And our sin would separate us from God for all eternity. However, at some point during each of our lives we realized that none of us could ever do enough to take away our sin and shame … and that is why … out of unmatched love … God sent His Son Jesus to rescue us.

No matter where you are from … or what you have done … have you been rescued ?

Here are two lines from Paul’s letter …
“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” Romans 8:1
