completely calm
Perhaps in your fast pace world you find yourself caught up in life’s unpleasant circumstances. That’s really a nice way to say that life stinks sometimes … and there doesn’t seem to be any authentic peace in sight.
It has been said that all of us are in one of three states:
1. coming out of a crisis.
2. in the middle of a crisis…. or
3. on the verge of experiencing a crisis.
Wouldn’t it be great if you could find a source that has the power to grant you absolute victory over all of life’s storms ? A reliable source that rescues you completely. One that you could count on time and time again. A source that cares about you as an individual and demonstrates it over and over again.
A band of men were in a boat crossing a lake when a furious storm overcame them and it seemed they would all drown. But their leader … a man named Jesus, who was so relaxed he was sleeping during this storm … stood up and said;
“Quiet ! Be still !” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.” Mark 4:39
Now I cannot speak for you … but that’s the kind of strength I want to be able to draw from. A redeemer so powerful that he always completes the task. If your source is anything but Jesus, you are relying on something that can never give you the “complete calm” you crave. Run to Him !
