GOD and golf
Tee it up and hit it in the fairway. Easy to say, but many times difficult to do. When your ball lands in the “rough” it can be tough getting out with any kind of quality results.
At times life will drop you in the “rough” … perhaps you are in one right now.
God asked the prophet Isaiah to tell sinful people that there is a way out. The Lord made it clear that if they would simply turn to Him He would make their “rough” smooth and grant forgiveness. A clean shot with righteous results.
The next time you find yourself in the “rough” on the golf course, may it remind you to seek God and His direction.
“I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. … But those who trust in idols … will be turned back in utter shame.” Isaiah 42:16-17
If you are more engulfed in your job, your hobbies, your house, your sports channel, your bank account, or your appearance … then you are buried in the “rough” worshiping “idols”. However, God sent us a “golf pro” to forgive us when we are in the “rough” and teach us how to live on smooth ground. His name is Jesus.
