Has Congress Lost Their Mind Due to Gas Prices?

I like reading the updates during the day and articles etc… this one threw me for a loop. (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12509275/&GT1=7938) Congress is proposing a $100 rebate to help absorb some of the increase in price…. I mean common all they are saying is you get some of the money you paid us… Part of reason gas is so high is a large portion is TAXES!!! As usual congress tries to fix something that needs a bandaid with a hammer… But i still love being an American! Should be even more of a reason to pray for our leaders.

I know that the President’s approval rating is plummeting, and I feel sorry for George Bush. This really isn’t all of his fault alone - as you say Dave, it’s congress, it’s the military and so on.

So sad he take the blame. Guess that is what comes with the territory.

The military has nothing to do with W’s approval rating. They do as they’re told and do an exceptional job.

The perception that Bush has anything to do with oil is part of the problem.

I’d say his cowboy style to leadership is also a problem. For example, He wants to give illegals amnesty. Bush’s conservative colleges don’t agree so Bush locks them out of key meetings that set the table for the future laws. Another example is the Dubai Ports issue. Both republicans and democrats wanted to kill the deal, but Bush pressed on like John Wayne.

Another problem is Iraq (no explanation needed).

Another problem is his fiscal recklessness. As bad as we thought Clinton was this will scare you. 1 year Clinton balanced the budget albeit with a gun pointed at his head by a republican congress. Clinton spending exceeded annual income 3%. When Clinton took office the nation debt was 3 trillion. Using the White Houses own statistics the Bush administration never balanced the budget, Excceed government income 10% annually and the national debt more then doubled to 7+ trillion. In the end Clinton taxes the US heavy and slightly spent more on government programs. Bush taxed less but PRINTED more money and spent MORE on government programs. Do you need to vomit now?

Don’t get me wrong I’m Bush hater or a Clinton supporter. But George W. Bush is not the fiscal conservative republican we think he is. I give him props for handling a difficult presidency with 9/11, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Women’s rights should be kissing W’s feet for what he’s done for women in Iraq and Afghanistan. But lets keep it real. The mentioned problems above are in PART the reason why his approval rating is heading south of 30.
