I don't need one of those

I spoke to four softball teams yesterday afternoon. My brief message was basically about “redemption” … and I could tell by the look on some of their faces that it was not well received.

Strange how people actually believe that they do not need a redeemer. Some how the evil one has convinced them that there is no life after death
… or that they have enough good deep inside that this will get them into “a better place” … or that a loving GOD will not send them to hell.

Forget about what all the so called “expert” on spiritual matters may say … what does GOD say ? GOD speaks to us through His Word … and in Psalm 51:5 and Romans 3:23 it is clear that GOD wants us to know that we all are born in sin. Period. And the only way into His Holy Kingdom is to be redeemed from this sin. The church cannot redeem you. The Pope cannot redeem you. Billy Graham cannot redeem you. And your good living habits cannot redeem you. Your sin has condemned you (and I) … so how do we get this “redemption” ?

“In Him (Jesus) we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.”
Ephesians 1:7

A redeemer … nothing is more important in your life than to come to the realization that you need one. And the only one that is worthy of that role is Jesus. If you have received Him as your redeemer … are you living like someone redeemed and who have you told ?
