idols and false-gods … who me ?
Part of Gideon’s story in Judges chapter 6 reveals his intense love for GOD. However, not only did Gideon love GOD … he hated false-gods … so much that he destroyed them.
What about the false-gods or idols in my life … or in yours ?
Do I place my “retirement-god” in front of Jesus ?
Does my “entertainment-god” have a greater value than Christ ?
Do I place my “sports or recreation-god” before the Savior ?
Does my mortgaged “house-god” come before Jesus ?
Is my “vacation-god” on a higher scale than the Lord of Lords ?
Is my “church-god” more important than worshiping the King ?
Most of us probably say … we love GOD … but do we hate our false-gods … our idols … and are we willing to destroy them ?
The last words of 1 John 5: 21 says it clearly.
“Dear children, keep yourselves from idols.”
