I’ve lost count how many times people have told me to enjoy Zach’s early years, as they go by quickly. “Yeah, yeah” I tell them, and just shrug it off. However, I took this picture of him a few weeks ago, and looking at it, I am realizing how old he’s getting. He’s only 20 months old, but quite honestly, it is starting to hit me how quickly he’s growing up. He’s starting to say words now, which is always a tell-tale sign that he’s going from baby to toddler, and before I know it, he will soon become a little boy. I guess it’s finally time to take this all seriously, as he’ll be going away to college in the blink of an eye…
I tell em “yeah yeah” also. I’m not looking forward to the day when it’s no longer cool to give dad a hug.
In our house, it will aways be cool.
Guys, I have 5 children. My oldest Alex is 11 yrs old. We recently had “the Talk”. It went just fine but it hit me so hard on how quickly time had gone by. I literally remember teaching him how to throw a ball as if it were only yesterday. Yes take it seriously and be purposeful in all you do with your children.

BTW - Alex is 11 and he still has no problem with hugs…at least for now he doesn’t :>))
Brian … my son Matt is a 36 year old lawyer in Des Moines and I remember vividly how he looked at me in disbelief when he could actually ride his bike without the training wheels … and that was about 30 years ago. Time IS fast … but is even faster when you get to be 56.
… enjoy your children slowly !
