life's bad hops
A man on one of our church softball teams was hit in the side of the head with a hard line drive that took a bad hop off the infield. He suffered two small brain hemorrhages and was in the hospital for 4 days. After four weeks the recovery has been slow … he still has headaches, nausea, dizziness and easily tires from small tasks.
Probably everyone reading this has experienced one of life’s “bad hops” … it may be a job, marriage, family, or health related challenge … but you know what it’s like to be smacked with pain and suffering. The question is, will this experience drive you away from God or to Him ?
One of the “bad hops” in Paul’s life can be found in Philippians chapter one. Paul is in chains … in prison … and this is his attitude toward suffering:
“Now I want you to know, brothers, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel.”
Philippians 1:12.
Turn your “bad hop” into a testimony for the Redeemer.
Easy to say … but a challenge to implement.
