Lord, you go first

This morning I got up at 4 am … got dressed … stretched … and hit the streets running by 4:30. I have this special secrete 3 mile route and I love running in a fresh light snow. Makes me feel like an explorer going where no none else has gone.

However, this morning I quickly discovered another set of foot prints running my exact route. My private route. I had to settle for second every step of the way.

After mile two I noticed ahead of me the person who’s footprints I had been following had slipped on a patch of ice … but he did not fall. Well, I’m no dummie … I slowed down and walked safely through that section of snow covered ice. Then this thought struck me. The man that ran ahead of me just saved me from potential injury and pain. His footprints revealed the danger.

Many times in my life God has gone before me and protected me. Protected me from the slippery slopes I find attractive.
Protected me from my biggest enemy … me.

“My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip …” Psalm 121:2-3

Thank you for this post. I’m glade that you took the time to look into your situation and see that God played a role in it. It’ seems that in todays society people tend to forget that God is not only working through us but He is also works for us, that in its self is amazing. It’s like a Father looking out for his child, He doesn’t have to He wants to.
