Maddie's letter

The other day when I came home tired from a 12 hour work day my wife handed me a letter we received in the mail and said … “here read this … this will cheer you up.” It was a letter from our 7 year old grand daughter Maddie who lives in Iowa.

The simplicity and sincerity of Maddie’s words brought a sense of delight to my heart that was beyond explanation.
What made the whole thing really special was this …
… she took the time to remember us and include us into her life. Maddie’s timing was perfect, by the way.

Since the Bible says we were created in God’s image, I believe the Lord is also thrilled to hear from us. He is
delighted when we call on Him and include Him in our lives.

“the Lord delights in those that fear Him, who put their hope in His unfailing love.” Psalm 147: 11

Perhaps it’s time you contacted your Heavenly Father. Write Him a letter … with pure words from the heart inviting Him into your life … like Maddie’s letter.

Mike is the Sports and Men's Ministries Pastor at Christ Community Church in St. Charles, IL. He worked with the Chicago FCA in a special inner city program called "SLAM" ... Saving Lives through Athletic Ministry. Mike graduated from Moody Bible Institute's Graduate School May of 2009 with MA in Biblical Studies.
