now ear this

I recently watched part of an interview with a man shopping on Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago. He was simply asked if he thought he would be in heaven when he died. Without hesitation the man said: “I think I will be in heaven, if I’m able to overcome with integrity all the obstacles I encounter throughout my lifetime.” Out loud I spoke back to him and my television screen. “Well, good luck … and let me know how that worked out for you on judgment day”.

Jesus addressed the issue of how to overcome in Revelation chapters two and three. He had advice for seven churches and His directive was very simple. … if you want to overcome and you have an ear, then hear what the Spirit says. Next, after listening to the Spirit, take action and repent.
(Revelation 2: 7, 11, 17, 29. Revelation 3: 6, 13, 22.)

If you think you can overcome the obstacles in this life and earn your way to heaven … then satan welcomes you into his kingdom.

Is there a sin issue in your life today ? Listen to God’s Spirit.
Repent and give it to the Redeeming King. King Jesus.
