politics and religion do mix afterall
I am so grateful I live in a country where our government leaders are not ashamed of facing a crisis through Biblical support … and do so publicly.
On my truck radio this morning I hear President Bush say … “Scripture tells us to turn from evil and do good ”
(which is from Psalms 37:27). A few seconds later I hear the voice of Virginia Governor Tim Kaine who said … “Jesus understood despair when he cried out from a hill on Calvary ‘My God my God why have you forsaken me?‘ (from Matthew 27:46)
No matter what … GOD is in total control. And He has placed His spirit in the hearts of many who lead this nation. What about your heart … what about mine ? What controls us ?

After running the gamut of emotions after this horrible tragedy I found myself with some funny thoughts after the ceremony yesterday. I found it curious why many quoted scripture and looked to God for help now in the hour of need. We all know how godless our university campuses can be. I thought to myself why even bother quoting scripture when they were probably actively searching ways to undermine Christianity and study Islam or other false religions just hours ago.
Then I thought… man, I’m so evil. Why am I so judgeful and wicked?
Remember the Amish shootings last October? The Amish people’s first thought was forgiveness for the shooter. After forgiveness was extended the Amish pooled their resources to give to the shooters family as they tried to recover themselves.
Now that’s a molding love. Something I want for my soul. May wicked thoughts leave my mind and may I be filled with God’s wisdom and understanding.
