Did you hear the big entertainment news story today? Britney Spears crossed the line of faith! Can you imagine that? She’s decided to forgo her crazy ways stating they were “hollow” and that she was only temporarily filled up with her extravagant lifestyle.

Britney claims that she had an encounter with a Christian that did not pass judgment upon her despite her well known shenanigans. The person showed her kindness and compassion. Once a friendship was forged the Christian confronted Britney and it was the turning point that made her realize that despite her accomplishments she was not guaranteed a place in heaven.

This story is not true it’s an adaptation of the Samaritan Woman in John 4. Jesus broke rules so that His agenda of love and redemption would triumph. It was socially unacceptable for a Jewish man to talk to a Samaritan… but this was not just a Samaritan it was a woman who was a prostitute.

It kind of reminds me of that saying…

If you do what you always did
you’ll get what you always got.

If we’re called to live like Him then we must be radical daily like He was.
*** We must think radically: “Yes it is possible that Britney Spares could cross the line of faith and impact an entire generation”
*** We must act radically: Over come excuses in your head when you think of doing something good. Those excuses, such as “I don’t have time to talk to him” or “She would never become a Christian” are attacks straight from the evil one. If the evil one can make you ineffective… he’s won the battle on your watch.
