remember the Rock
As a high school science teacher for 31 years, a father for 37 years, and a grandfather for 7 years … I have had many encounters with parents. Through the years several have mentioned the value of spending quality time with their kids.
A concept I heartily endorse.
At the same time I have noticed a large percentage of parents that daily ignore opportunities to spend quality time with God.
Sad that people who say they love God and appreciate His mercy, grace, and blessings spend little or no time with Him.
We are all created with a purpose … to have an intimate relationship with our Creator. A relationship that is based on eternal truth and will establish our place in heaven. Yet many intentionally leave God out of their lives and dismiss their indifference with a statement like this:
“I am too busy … God understands how I feel.”
Isaiah warned many about the dangers of ignoring quality time with our loving God … he said:
“You have forgotten God your Savior; you have not remembered the Rock, your fortress.” Isaiah 17:10
With a thankful heart … let us remember our Rock … and what He did for us that day on Calvary.
