Rock Star Testimony
Ever heard of those people who’ve wrecked their lives by abusing sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll? Ok maybe it’s not possible to abuse rock-n-roll. You get the point. There are lots of people who’ve hit rock bottom. I’m not just saying on a depression level. I’m staying their life could not get worse. Then in that broken moment they find God and turn their life around. What an amazing testimony to the power of God.
Yeah but “I’ve been a Christian my whole life and my testimony’s kinda lame”. I’ve heard this fodder many times. But something struck me yesterday after writing my post about Peter. I started comparing Peter to Paul. I found it interesting to note that Paul had the rock star testimony (killing Christians) while Peter had the “good” Christian testimony.
It’s just a cool comparison that shows that God can use us now matter what our history is. It’s just matter of having a willing spirit to be used by God.
Kinda simple… I like that.

good stuff Lis; very true, often Christians try to “one up” each other with their “before” testimonies. What counts is the “after.”
Brian,
i can defintely see your side of that. I have been teaching high school boys for 5 years and i had one of them not to long ago struggle with his testimony. I was sharing my testimony and let’s just say that it is colorful, but Christ spared me, little ole’ me, worthless nobody me. and my point to the student was that i looked at him as if he was in fact the one to look up to. He has never drunk a beer in his life, never smoked a cigarette, never smoked dope and what a great testimony that he has b/c he has used the same will not to do as i choose to do those horrible things.
Jason, your very correct in that many Christians will try to one up or quite frankly just revisit too many past behaviors and before you know it those thoughts are back at you 10 fold.
