the Monsignor vs. God's Word
During my lifetime several high profile, God – loving men have either fallen into sin, or made statements that simply do not line up with God’s inspired words. The list includes prominent leaders in both the protestant and catholic faiths. Please understand that I am not picking on one particular faith … but both heresy and hypocrisy are undermining God’s absolute truth. And the devil is pleased.
From the Chicago Tribune (March 29, 2007) in an article from “The God Squad”, here is a response by Monsignor Thomas Hartman when asked if Jesus is the only way to heaven.
“The Catholic Church believes that if you live the best life you can live, you will be saved.”
Hartman goes on to say …
” … you need not profess this (Christ) to be saved.”
Has God’s Word, His inspired truth, been lying to man-kind for centuries ? Is Jesus Himself a liar ? Perhaps you might want to ask Hartman by contacting him at Tribune Media Services
godsquad@telecaretv.org While you’re at it ask him to comment on these passages:
John 14:6 Romans 8:1 Romans 10:9-10
John 6:40 1 John 5:11-12
John 3:16 1 Timothy 2:5
John 5:9 Titus 3:5-7
John 10:27-28 Acts 4:12
Finally, before I sent this I prayed that God would reveal anything in my life that resembles hypocrisy or heresy. Perhaps you might make the same request.
