the Muslim mind-set viewed first hand

Last week I visited a Muslim mosque. I called ahead so they knew I was coming.

I sat in the back of the room filled with 200+ Islamic men all facing east and preparing for the prayer ritual and “sermon” from their leader.

The Islamic leader’s BOLD message included these thoughts about Christians:
“Christians say they stand for love … but they sell drugs to our children and teach them to dishonor their parents. Christians convince our women to dress like they do and then our Muslim men are tempted into sexual sin and adultry. They say their book, the Bible, tells them to turn the other cheek, yet they do not do this themselves around the world. Christians say they love us … but they shoot our people … they kill us with bombs … they kill us with cluster bombs. They hate us.” He continued by saying: “I am just as much an American … perhaps more so … than George Bush, because I left my counrty and came here to stay. I love this country and I am teaching my kids to love this country. I f you want to change America and how it views Islam, then we must become U.S. citizens and vote. We must show the United States that the Muslim world stands for peace, strong family values, and a people united in their obedience to Allah.”

Afterwards I was immediately surrounded by 5 Muslim men. They all were very friendly … more so than many Christian churches I have visited. They were interested in my thoughts about the message and gave me an English version of the
Al-Qur’an to keep.

All in all it was a very eye-opening experience. Yet I left sick to my stomach. I felt like as I was walking away from a burning building. These folks have been deceived … and they are lost … doomed to an eternal separation from the one true GOD. Their entire belif system rests on how they MUST earn their way into heaven. To them Jesus is liar.

Thank you LORD for sending your Son Jesus to redeem me, save me, and keep me forever. I cannot earn your grace. I can only believe and trust in your plan of salvation through faith.

“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him” John 3: 36

These men had a genuine zeal for their convictions … what about those of us who claim to follow Christ ?
… where is our zeal ?
