The Potter
Over the last two weeks I’ve been shocked to see the behavior of children between the ages 2-3. I’ve noticed that children develop at different rates. For example some may speak really well while others already understand 4+2. Some children are already potty trained while others don’t know what the word “potty” means. Sadly, some children are behind developmentally in most areas. I even saw a prodigy 2 year old boy on ESPN who was hitting golf balls into a umbrella 15 feet away. He actually chipped 8 out 10 golf balls into a turned over umbrella.
The funny piece I’ve noticed is that a child’s maturity is directly linked to the parent’s investment in the child. I really don’t think it’s a matter of one child simply excelling at one random area of life over another. Parents really drive the children’s growth in each area of development.
Here comes the spin…
How can God mold us into what He wants, if we don’t allow Him the time to invest in us?
We are the clay, and thou are Potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.” Isaiah 64:8b
“Hath not the potter power over the clay,” Romans 9:21a

very observant and very right, thanks
