Hi Brian et al, interesting thought.
My wife and I are on a hiatus from attending church regularly. Not so we can do our own thing but, really, more to find what God has for us. All this against commonly accepted teaching.
Do we read daily? No.
Do we pray daily? No.
So how is this good for us? Not sure yet but God is never far from our minds and we just believe a relationship with God is "with God" rather than the church "programs" we've been a part of.
Is that selfish of us? Maybe. Probably.
Do we really want more of God? Absolutely!
All the best to you in your journey.

Man I echo your sentiment man I just posted a prayer request for the same reason the day before because I had walked away from the Lord and was traveling in a fog. I pray that the Lord would breath in us a spirit of renewal and restore to us the joy of our salvation. May the Lord bring back into his good graces. Two good songs for you Father than your grace can reach and Place called grace by phillips craig and dean. Think farther than your grace can reach was by stephen curtis chapman but dont quote me on that. Both deal with the issue we are facing.
