God’s Word teaches us that we were born in sin and we are a slave to our sinful nature. All of us. No exceptions.
Because of this, you and I need a Redeemer … a Savior.
Too many Christians have attached their redemption and salvation to the rituals of the church. Baptism, Communion, regular attendance, Bible study, and tithing are not substitutes for … or additions to … what Jesus did on the cross. HE alone was our substitute. He took the spit, the slaps, the punches, the beatings, the lashes, the nails, and the pain of humliation in my place … and in your place.
I am studying Hinduism, Buddhism, and the Islam religions
… and they all boil down to one concept. Merit. What can I do to make myself worthy enough to someday be with God when I die ?
Well, I have discovered another religion … “churchism” … and it’s been around for a long time … and it boils down to another one of satan’s deceptions. The devil wants you to find a substitute for your substitute. Let me tell you this …
… there is none. Don’t misunderstand, those church actions are great IF they are done from a grateful heart motivated by the fact that Jesus was my substitute that day on the cross.
“Jesus answered, I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.”
John 14:6
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those that are in Christ Jesus.”
Romans 8:1
There is no substitute for the substitute.
