Lately I have been receiving calls and visits from Christian dads who have fallen to adultery and/or pornography. Because of this, I’ve racked my brain trying to figure out why.

At our ministry staff prayer this week one of the pastors I work with stated that he is experiencing the same concerns. After asking these dads a simple question … he identified the problem.
There is a pattern with these men. They are not reading the Bible … God’s word … daily.

I decided to expand this investigation and also discovered that these men do not meet with other Christ-following men in a regular small group setting. In other words, these guys are walking into this sin-infested world unarmed. They are relying on their own power to make good choices.

Slowly Satan convinces Christian dads that its ok to make life decisions without God. And before long they find themselves in the bottom of a filthy pit … and the people they love the most have been crushed with disappointment.

Psalm 119: 59,104,&105 states …
“I have considered my ways and have turned my steps to your statutes.” “I gain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path.” “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.”

You and I are doomed to stumble around in the dark if we ignore God’s written instruction and His Holy Spirit guidance. Let us arm ourselves.
