The latest TV commercial says:
“what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” …
but I disagree. For the first time in their history the Chicago RUSH arena football team plays in the Arena Bowl Sunday, June 11 in Las Vegas … and they have asked Linda and I to join them. With God’s direction, I will deliver a team chapel message on Saturday and then my wife and I will be included as guests at the team evening supper.
God can orchestrate some of the most bazaar events in a person’s life. I am humbled that HE can take a man like me and change me … and then use me for HIS glory.
It’s a huge responsiblity to be a representative for Christ.
Yet, this is what all Christ-followers are summoned to be.
You and I are not saved to sit … and Paul reminds us in scripture to be ambassadors for Jesus. On our own we will fail. We are unworthy and cannot accomplish anything without the power of the Holy Spirit. What the Lord wants from us is a willingness to be used for HIS Kingdom … HE will supply the opportunity and courage.
Pray for me as I prepare a “good news” message for Las Vegas … and then pray that it does’t stay in Vegas.
