While eating lunch in a neighborhood restaurant this week, I listened to the conversation from a nearby table as people arrived and were being introduced to each other for the first time. Each person’s name was given followed immediately by their title … CEO, VP of Sales, Account Executive, Operations Manager and another title I cannot remember. From my seat it all seemed like a celebration of accomplishments and pride … and perhaps there is nothing wrong with that … if it designed around GOD for His glory.

How would you define your identity ? The Bible clearly reveals that the only thing that matters is our identity with Christ … but many people completely ignore this view. Yet, from an eternal perspective, this is the only view that counts.

Faith is a word thrown around a lot these days. But faith means nothing without the RIGHT object. From reading GOD’s Word you can tell if someone is a Christian by whether or not Jesus is in them. So the object of ones faith must be Christ. Most likely if your faith hasn’t changed you … then it hasn’t saved you.

I wonder if I have enough guts to introduce myself in the following manner from now on ?
“Hi, I’m Mike Hurn and I have faith in Jesus who has saved me and changed me.”

“Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Jesus Christ is in you - unless, of course, you fail the test.”
